ROUTE D'ARBRES
Acrylic on Canvas. Size: 90cms x 90cms. Unframed with finished edges.

Plane trees are a quintessential part of the French landscape and were widely used in the early and mid-19th century - first planted along roadsides on the orders of Napoleon to provide shade for troops moving through the country.

I love them.

They create a wonderful effect of light and shade, particularly when sunny. And driving down them is a joy.
