Driving back home from Sainte Maxime late one evening in the South of France, I by chance noticed the wonderful effect the car headlights had on the local Parasol Pine trees. The trees are already striking to look at due to the amazing way they are angled against the horizon. No doubt due to decades of surviving Le Mistral.

But being lit from underneath, the trunk and branches, in particular, were beautifully highlighted in a sculptural way against the darker background.
